Seasonal Inspiration: 5 Ways to Bring Autumn into Your Home

the white company apple pie dish
It’s here! My favourite season.  There’s something about  Autumn that just fills me with happiness. Maybe it’s the fresh start I associate with coming home after the summer holidays full of optimism and ready to return to work and life with new energy. There’s also the beauty of the season – the golden hues and misty mornings; the hazy golden light of the afternoon sunshine, crisp frosts and hedgerows full of berries.  There’s a cosy feeling too, of gathering supplies and preparing to nest down for the coming winter. Below are some of the things the things I’m looking forward to this Autumn and five quick seasonal updates to make at home to get you into the Autumnal spirit!

5 Things I love about Autumn:
The scent of woodsmoke and the anticipation of the first fire of the season
The low, golden sun of a late October afternoon
Carpets of crispy leaves to kick through on the way to work
The first glittering veil of frost over the grass in the mornings
Hedgerows laden with berries
5 Seasonal updates to make at home:

Update 1: Gather berries, leaves and seasonal fruit to decorate table tops and mantlepieces and add lots of candlelight to make your home feel warm and snug whilst still bringing in a bit of the outdoors
